Street Reconstruction
St. Paul Park's Street Reconstruction Program is funded in part through special assessments to adjoining properties. These special assessments represent 33%- 40% of the project costs. The remaining costs for the Street Reconstruction Program are financed by the city as a whole through general taxes.
Definition of "reconstruction"--is the reconstruction (or replacement) of an existing city street that consists of a street built to city standards with water, sewer, storm, curb and gutter.
Note: This policy was adopted on March 5, 2007 by Ordinance No. 628.
- All costs of reconstruction improvements are to be assessed 33% to the benefiting property owners zoned residential.
- All costs of reconstruction improvements are to be assessed 40% to the benefiting property owners zoned commercial or industrial.
