Utility Division

sanitary sewer lines and lift stations; flushes city hydrants; reads water meters; and repairs fire hydrants.

Municipal Water
A city-owned and city-operated water system makes up a major portion of the St. Paul Park Utility Division.  The water supply comes from wells with a total pumping capacity of about 2,350 gallons per minute or 3 million gallons per day.  To handle peak water loads; St. Paul  Park also has two water towers. The Utility Division staff reads water meters and bills quarterly based on usage.

Municipal Sewer
The Utility Division maintains sanitary sewer lines in St. Paul Park which discharge into the regional waste treatment system managed by the Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES).

Private Well and Septic
Some St. Paul Park properties obtain their water through private wells and are not served by the municipal water systems.  And those properties not on sewer lines utilize private on-site septic systems.  Permits are required to install and maintain a well or septic system that conforms to state and county codes.  Contact Washington County Public Health Environment at (651) 430-6655.
