Position Objectives

The Parks & Recreation Commission advises the council on matters of recreation activities, park and trail development and management. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Review existing park and recreation facilities within the city and adopt a plan for work and purchases as necessary to bring existing parks and recreation facilities up to an adequate level.
  2. Study and recommend to the City Council the acquisition of additional land for parks and recreational facilities and equipping of such facilities.
  3. Propose recreational programs.
  4. Other matters affecting parks and recreational facilities within the city.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Must be able to attend the Parks & Recreation Commission meetings held on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. 
  2. Share personal expertise as needed.
  3. Resident of St. Paul Park recommended, but not required.
